The simulations can be very helping in introducing knife skills, banquet set-up, napkin folding, garnishing, etc. Simulations would play a huge part in prepping the students mentally, physically, etc for the atmosphere of real-life assessment of the previously simulated skills all while enforcing Gagne's 9 events of instruction. At any age, when learning is fun and exciting it keeps the students engaged and wanting more – which is the objective.
This site would not come up to view the simulations. I responded to the other topic on simulations and games. Simulations can be used to provide "real life" situations to allow the students to relate. Students learn better and can relate when they have experienced the scenario. I think this is an awesome idea. It is creative and keeps the student interested in the subject.
I think that simulation and games are important in a classroom setting. It is important for children especially to learn from what they know from games. Htis causes the brain simulations used in video games.
