Answer each of the following questions:
1. What did I learn?
2. So what does it mean to me in the context of other learning that I have done in this class or other classes?
3. Now what am I going to do about (or with) what I have learned or experienced?
I really enjoyed the presentation on classroom simulations and videos that were shown in class today. I learn about simulations and the way that it can play a huge part in effecting how students learn. Simulations are also a way of incorporating current technology into the classrooms.
ReplyDeleteSimulations are very vital in C&TTE, it puts the students in real life scenarios and it pushes the students to use their problem solving skills as group or individually.
I would really like to incorporate this teaching method into my future classroom. When I am able to work with my hands (whether real-life or simulations) the task is really put into perspective for me.
Today's class we covered "Other Methods of Assessments" and how we can further evaluate our students. We sent a great deal of time working on our lesson plans and trying to perfect the way of writing our objectives using the ABCD method. From there we switched gears and moved on to simulations and bringing technology into the classroom. We talked about the pros and cons of this. Simulations allow to fail without risk... Practice real life situations in a virtual environment.
ReplyDeleteSeveral classes that I’ve taken since returning to school that implore technology in the classroom. Psychology classes we use podcast, Astronomy classes we virtually go to planets and solar systems far beyond our normal reach.
I believe in technology and I'm also willing to incorporate it in my classroom. I can see how simulations work and I understand how these methods can allow us to cover materials and go to places that physically we not be able to. I also understand to need to keep our students engaged in learning and to present material from a different perspective and allow some students to tap into learning that may not have otherwise interested them.
Today we learned how people can use computer simulation games to help students better understand topics. Simulation helps keep students interested in the subject and keep them out of trouble. Students can learn with virtual classrooms. This is great so students will have the hands on without exposing them to the danger. It allows them experience of subject without being in the real life situation.
ReplyDeleteThis would be very educational and helpful to help enlight the student and they would be able to grasp it more if they can do the hands on part of learning.
With this technique introduced to me, I would like to research and learn more about ways that I may use this training in my classroom.
Tonight we leanrned that about games stimulation, and how technology can be used in the classroom. We watched a video on how it is important to adjust to students needs, and incoorape things that they can relate too. I have mixed feelings about technology in the classroom, but I am becoming more used to them
